Mary Ann Chilcutt

Following rules of that time, Jesse posted bond as guardian of his children, who were all minors at the time. This was usual if a spouse died leaving minor children.

Elizabeth "Betsy", Lucinda "Lucy", 2; and Mary Jane never married. I know almost nothing more about them.

Jesse Bradshaw

NOTE: the 1850 census implies that Jesse's birt was in 1828 or 1829, but it may have been a bit earlier because, if he had been born very shortly before 1830, he would almost certainly have been recruited for Civil War service, but I have found no record of his serving in official records or in my notes passed down to me from my great-grandmother. He was possibly left out because of the several young children.

Jesse's and Mary's family is listed just below Richard Bradshaw's family. Jesse was 21, and Mary was 31. The only child in the family was Martha, 4 months old.

Jesse and his children were in the family headed his older brother William, and the family included Jesse's and William's brothers and sisters. Further down the page was the family of brother Richard.
