Mary and John Pulliam

Mary

See the note under husband John for my reasoning in listing Joseph and Rachel as their children. Several people list other children for Mary and John, but I have found most of those people provide other incorrect data for the couple, often even having them born a generation earlier.

    Children of John and Mary
  1. Joseph
  2. Rachel C.

Her gravestone inscription states "Mary Alexander wife of John Pulliams Born 7 Mar 1791 Died June 1860". I found no documentation for who provided the graveston information or when the stone was erected; however it looks old in the photograph.

John Pulliam

John's birth and death dates are from his gravestone in Old Summerour Methodist Cemetery, and his name is inscribed as John Pulliam Sr.

Note: only John, 66, and Mary, 61, were listed in the family, but the same page, one family distant, had Joseph and Sarah Pulliam and their children. I cannot read his age, but she was 25, and their oldest child was 7. Joseph was probably the son of John and Mary. The family between them was that of Marcus and R. C. Trimmier, age 38 and 34. They are buried in the same cemetery as Mary and John, and the keeper of the Find a Grave page states that Rachel C. Trimmier was the daughter of Mary and John. Their census listing supports this .
