• Parents: Nathaniel Moody and Mary Flynt
• Born: between 1797 and 1800, Stokes Co., NC
• Died: between September 1841 and May 1844, Guillford Co., NC

NOTE: This assumption about the parents and birthplace seems most likely, but it may be incorrect. An alternative theory is that the parents are Thomas L. Moody and female he apparently married and who was listed with him on the 1800 census in Stokes County. That Thomas had only two males under 25 in his family on the 1810 census in Guilford County contradicts this theory since sons Isaac Newton and John R. reported themselves as born before 1810. Of course, someone else could have raised the son from Stokes County.

Thomas F. Moody witnessed the will of Isabella McCuiston in Guilford County 8 September 1841. Thomas was deceased by May 1844 when the will was recorded in court after Isabella McCuiston's death. Robert A. Moody testifies then to Thomas's death that the signature on the will was that of Thomas.
