Mary Flynt

Children of Nathaniel Moody and Mary Flynt
  1. Thomas F.., born 1798 or 1799
  2. Daughter

In placing the marriage to Mary Flynt as a second marriage, I am making an assumption that the Nathaniel Moody who married Mary Flynt was the Nathaniel Moody listed in the 1800 census in Stokes County. Since the family had a son age 16 or over, the female aged between 16 and 26 could not be the mother. If Mary Flynt was the mother of both children under 10, they were almost certainly both 2 or under.

1800 Census, Stokes County, North Carolina
Nathaniel Moody, 1 male under 10, 1 male 16 but under 26, 1 male 25 but under 45, 1 female under 10, 1 female 16 but under 26, 1 slave gender not specified

I have been unable to find this Nathaniel Moody or a Mary (Flynt) Moody on a census after 1800. It is highly unlikely that he would have been the Nathaniel Moody enumerated in Pitt County, North Carolina at a later date.
