His parents: Thomas L. Gore Sr and Elizabeth Darnell
Louisa's parents: Not known but said to be Martin Burk and a McClure
Mary's parents: William Spencer and Nancy Eaton
An entry in Isaac D. Gore's bible states, "Thomas Gore born was born May 28th 1816" (page 680). The birth would have been in South Carolina before the family's move to Tennessee.
Thomas L Gore Jr married late. On the 1850 census, at age 35, he was living in the family of Louisa, his brother Jonathan's widow. Jonathan had died November 1843 as noted by Thomas in his notes. Thomas and Louisa were married 29 September 1851.
Since he is not listed on the 1840 census in Franklin County or an adjacent county, Thomas was probably living with another family member then.
Louisa died 3 September 1865 as recorded in the Moorehead-Gore bible. Although he was both uncle and step-father to Louisa's and Jonathan's children, Thomas and Louisa seem to have had no children.
Thomas married Mary Spencer (name on license given as Moorhead, her name from her previous marriage) 12 September 1866. Mary had been married to James L. Moorehead and had three children with him before his death as a soldier in the Civil War.(1)
Thomas and Mary had two children as noted in the Gore-Moorehead bible, Gustavus Alolphus, born 2 August 1867, and Mary Elizabeth, born 21 February 1869. Mary Elizabeth died as a child, and her death was entered in the bible.
Several religous society publications had the story of Thomas's death on 7 October 1886 in Franklin County, Tennessee, one being the Nashville Christian Advocate. The issue was published 18 December 1886. When Thomas died, Mary was appointed administratrix for his estate, and signing as surety for her were H. N. Lucus, J. E. Spencer, and G. A. Gore.
As shown by the twentieth century censuses, Mary spent her latter years as part of the familly of son Gustavus Adolphus. She lived to appear on the 1920 census but died shortly afterward in May of that year.
Gustavus Adolphus married Mary B. Templeton, who appears to have used the name Belle. They had several children, one of whom was Lawton Lacy. I do not know enough about Gustavus Adolphus's 'family to carry the tale further without extensive research and will leave the story to cousin Vivien.
Mary's daughter Nancy Elizabeth "Lizzie" Mooreheadmarried Joshua Tolbert "Tollie" Gore, the son of Isaac Gore and Sarah Caroline Stagner.Gore-Moorehead Family
Mary's son William Rufus Moorehead never married as shown by his death certificate.
Mary's daughter Virginia Catherinemarried Thomas J. McClure, the son of Thomas B. McClure and Mary Smith.

(Note 1): The Moorehead family is intimately tied to the Gore and Alexander families. James Moorehead's parents were John Moorehead (died 28 January 1864, Lincoln Co., TN) and wife Elizabeth. Will of John Moorehead I have no reason to doubt that Elizabeth's maiden name was Goudelock as is usually claimed; however, I have seen no data to support this claim.
James L. Moorehead had a brother named John N. as noted in their father's will, and John N. Moorehead and wife Mary Waggoner were the parents of Charles W. "Charlie" Moorehead, who married Emily Jane "Janie" Alexander, the daughter of Mary Gore and the granddaughter of Isaac Gore. Additional data and records for their family are in my Alexander family history, a published book which can also be found on-line. Their family is also addressed in the page devoted to the children of Joshua Tolbert Gore and Nancy Elizabeth Moorehead.
