In doing research on the cemetery, I have discovered several errors in listings, which I will try to correct here. I'm sure that I have made errors on this page or the burial listings also, and I will correct the mistakes if someone provides the correct information and gives the basis.

Bertha Alexander Wall Bertha, who was the daughter of John Wesley Alexander and Nancy Clementine Wall and the second wife of Lorenzo Dow "Dowdy" Wall, has a gravestone in Puryear Cemetery. I'm unsure why she is sometimes listed as being buried here in FHC.

Samuel Gore, died 06 Aug. 1910, aged 70 y This listing comes from an error by a compiler many years ago when he or she used the death record of S. M. Gore as a source. S. M. Gore was Sarah Margaret Wall Gore, third wife of Isaac D. Gore, and the date is correct for her. She is buried at FHLDSC. I believed incorrectly, for some time, that this burial might have been for a nephew of Isaac, who came here from Franklin County.

Ann Griffin, died 09 Apr. 1911, aged 40 y I believe this to be the Annie Griffin buried in the FHLDS Cemetery. That Ann who died 1911 and was born about 1873 appears to be the only female Griffin of appropriate age in the Whitlock-Puryear area in 1910.
