The photograph and probably the names were donated to the Henry County (Tennessee) Archives(1) by Jennifer Arnold, and much organizing work was done by Elizabeth Fay, to both of whom I owe thanks for this page. I'm unsure who identified the individuals pictured. The photograph and the legend were published in the Paris Post Intelligencer, a paper that has been published in Paris, Tennessee, since 1866. It was born when the weeklyPost and the Weekly Intelligencer, its predecessers, combined.
Many of the students pictured with Victoria Moody were related to her, but I cannot readily give the kinship factors without a detailed analysis. For example, Cora McSwain and Victoria were cousins through both Cora's mother and her father, but I cannot recall the degree.

Names of the students and teachers and their postions in the rows are provided in the photo below, but it is still not easy to determine who is who.
Victoria Moody among classmates
In this small group centered on Victoria Moody are:
(1)Henry County Archive and Genealogical Library, Paris, Tennessee; Stephanie Tayloe, County Archivist
(2)The people labelled as McChristian are undoubtedly from the McCuiston tribe, and all seem to be children of George McCuiston and Elizabeth "Betty" Williams. Even in my youth, our neighboring McCuiston kin were usually called McChristians. Those identified as McChristian descended from Thomas "Reedy Fork Tom" McCuiston and Nancy Johnson as did Victoria Moody.
