After several years of investigating, several people including Fredric Saunders and me believe it is likely that Thomas Moody's widow Mary married Robert Scott; however, the evidence is certainly not overpowering. Here I mention only his will of which I have only a very poor copy from the internet. As.did I, you will likely have difficulty reading the left side of the page. The parts of the will I want to emphasize mention wife Mary Scott and a presumably young Thomas Moody.
I translated item 1 as: "I give and bequeath to my loving wife Mary Scott the housing and lot wherewith I now live in the town of Martinsville, the lot containing half an acre, also one serving(?) girl named Patience to her and her heirs forever provided she does not marry in her years after my decease; otherwise the house and lot to be sold ????? after her marriage and the negro to remain hers . . . (illegible) and all my house furniture."
I translated item 7 as: "I give and bequeath to Thomas Moody the sum of ten pounds to him and his heirs forever with my saddle and bridle."
