Information that Donna Moody shared with me years ago: "Elijah 'Lige' Wilford Moody, born 18 August 1868, was the 13th child of Isaac Newton Moody, was the 2nd and last of his two children by Nancy E. P. Chilcutt Weldon. He married, about 1890, Mary Frances Steele, daughter of David Polk Steel and Tennessee Elkins. They lived on the old Moody place.
By the 1900 Henry County (U-S) Census, Elijah Moody and his wife, Mary, had three young boys - Thomas Elwood, William Arthur, and Andrew Mitchell, and she had lost one child, a girl, who died very young, and who lies buried in the "Old Newt Moody Cemetery." Lige's mother, Nancy was living with them in 1900. Edward Curd Moody was born in 1905. Elijah moved his family to the Big Sandy area by 1909. Mary died 23 July 1909 at the birth of the baby son, Hunter. Hunter was taken to raise by the Cantrell's of Big Sandy, but he died young, of a kind of virulent croup, in 1915."
