The family bible, identified herein as the T. L. Gore Bible, has an entry about Isaac's birth and that of his twin Caroline, who died young. It states, "Isaac N Gore was bornd the 15 of July 185_," and Sarah Caroline's entry completes the date to provide the year 1851.
Since Isaac Newton was 40 when he married Clemmie Paschall, it seemed that he might have been married previously although I could not locate a record of such marriage. Also the 1910 census stated that he was marrried once. Since Isaac Newton does not appear on a census in Henry County in 1880, I searched for an Isaac Gore, Newton Gore, and I. N. Gore of about the right age in neighboring Kentucky, and in Missouri where he and Clemmie lived. In Missouri, I found two born in the early 1850s, both of them married and with families. One was in Atchison County, and one was in Reynolds County, but both still appear on censuses in 1900 with the same wives and some of the same children. The Isaac (Isic N.) in Graves County, KY, fit all of the parameters and was single and working as a farm-hand. He was almost certainly our Isaac Newton.
Clemmie's death certificate states that her birth was 31 May 1874, but the 1900 census gives the birth date as May 1872, while the 1880 census gives her age as 9, implying a birth year of 1871. There are several reasons to believe the 1871 date or 1872 date is correct since it would be difficult to fit her birth between the births of other Paschall children's after that year. She died 21 April 1916 (Missouri Certificate of Death, Buchanan County, 1916, #13620).
Isaac Newton's and Clemmie's children were Edna B., born 16 February 1897(2), Raymond Isaac, born 5 September 1899(3), and Joseph Tolbert, born 27 August 1909(4).
After Clemmie's death, Isaac married Nancy Waddell.They had no children. He died 27 October 1925 (Missouri Certicate of Death, Jackson County, 1925, #29908).
According to the Social Security Application and Claims Index of daughter Margie Marie, Raymond was married to Julia Olar (who immigrated from Hungary in 1914).They likely had only the daughter and a son, Rayond N. since Julia died before she was 30. Edna B. was married to Fay Noah, and they had several children. Joseph Tolbert marrried Adele Freedman 2 April 1943 in California, and they filed for divorce in California May 1973. I found no record of children.
