His parents: Isaac Darnell Gore and Sarah Caroline Stagner
Her parents: Noah Wyatt and Mary Kanup(1)
The family bible does not have an entry about Francis's birth. His death certificate with information supplied by a son states that he was born in 1859, but this must be incorrect. The 1860 federal census, taken about one year after Isaac's marriage to Margaret Wall gives Francis's age as 2. Isaac's previous wife Caroline Stagner died in the fall of 1858, which means the birth could have been no later than 1858. He was known as Rip to family and friends, and his death certificate notes this nickname.
Mary Jane appears to have known her birthday and birth year and apparently kept notes since her son had this information available. She was born 6 February 1850. Before her marriage to Francis, she had been married to Samuel A. Miller. The 1880 census shows them with one child, Hattie, plus several young children from Samuel's earlier marriage to a wife named Emily who had died shortly before he remarried. Samuel himself died in 1880 not long after the census enumeration. In part due to the loss of the 1890 federal census, I have found no record showing if Francis and Mary Jane took the children into their family when they married in 1882 or possibly early 1883. She died 3 November 1918, a victim of the flu epidemic.
Francis and Mary Jane had children: Isaac Noah, known as Noah, Lillie Pearl, and Oliver Lee.(2) Noah married Lela, a woman much younger than he; Lillie married Barnie Farmer; and Oliver never married.
Noah, whose brother Oliver lived with him in a residence next door to their widowed brother-in-law Barney Farmer, reported himself as widowed on the 1920 Federal census, but a possible marriage seems to have produced no surviving children. Noah married Lela(3) in 1926, and they had two children Edgar E. and Walter Lee. Noah died 24 November 1949. Edgar Earl lived until 1982, but I have no information about a marriage or offspring. Walter, the younger son, died in 1968.(4), and I have no record of a marriage or children.
Lillie Pearl married Barney, or Barnie, Farmer. She died in 1917 of post-partum hemorrhaging after giving birth prematurely to still-born twins. Mother and infants have Kentucky Death Certificates, Marshall County,1917, #7459, #7457, and #7458, respectively. Lillie Pearl and Barnie Farmer had at least one child, Thomas B., who survived to adulthood, married, and had a family.
Oliver Lee died in his early thirties without marrying. He was struck by a train.

(Note 1): From Mary Jane's death certificate
(Note 2): I have not been to the county archives to do research, and I have found no marriage record for Francis and Mary Jane and none for Noah and Lela. Lillie Pearl's and Barnie Farmer's record is available on Ancestry.com, and Oliver apparently never married.
(Note 3): If son Edgar's birth record is transcribed correctly and contains only data from the original, Lela's maiden name was McClard. The record in Kentucky Birth Index, 1911-1999, Volume 102, Certificate #50584, for Edgar E. Gore, born 31 October 1926 in Marshall County, Kentucky lists his mother as Lela McClard.
(Note 4): The application for a military headstone for Walter Lee Gore was made by Lela Williams, who is designated as his mother. The application provides his birth date and death date as 8 March 1930 and 5 September 1968.
